Go Red for Women 2025

❤️ Today, the Capital Cardiology Associates team proudly wore red to support the Go Red for Women campaign! Heart disease remains the leading cause of death for women, but together, through awareness, education, and preventive care, we can change that.

We stand with the American Heart Association in raising awareness about cardiovascular health and the importance of early detection. Join us in spreading the message—Heart health is women's health!

Heart disease is the leading cause of death among women, responsible for 1 in 3 deaths each year. Yet many women are unaware of the symptoms, which often differ from those in men. Instead of classic chest pain, women may experience shortness of breath, nausea, dizziness, extreme fatigue, or pain in the neck, jaw, or back—symptoms that can be easily dismissed. Alarmingly, 90% of women have at least one risk factor for heart disease, yet only about half recognize it as their greatest health threat. Regular screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes, along with lifestyle changes like a balanced diet, exercise, and stress management, can significantly reduce risk. Early awareness and action can save lives.
