Frequently Asked Questions — Capital Cardiology Associates

Capital Cardiology Associates serves patients across the Capital Region of New York from seven locations in Albany, Clifton Park, Troy, Niskayuna, Saratoga Springs, Coxsackie, and Cairo. Below are answers to the most common questions from our patients.

Appointments & Access

How do I schedule an appointment at Capital Cardiology Associates?
To schedule an appointment at any of our seven locations across the Capital Region, call 518-292-6004, Monday–Friday 8am–4:30pm, to speak with a patient service representative. If you are being referred by another provider, please have your referring provider's information available when you call.

Do I need a referral to see a cardiologist at CCA?
In many cases, a referral from your primary care provider is required by your insurance plan before seeing a specialist. We recommend checking with your insurance carrier before scheduling. If you are experiencing urgent cardiac symptoms, you can visit one of our Enhanced Cardiac Access walk-in clinics without an appointment or referral.

Does Capital Cardiology Associates have a walk-in clinic?
Yes. Capital Cardiology Associates operates Enhanced Cardiac Access (ECA) walk-in clinics at three locations: Albany (Corporate Woods), Clifton Park, and Niskayuna. The ECA provides same-day evaluation for patients with potential cardiac symptoms including chest pain, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, and rapid heart rate — without requiring a scheduled appointment. The ECA uses on-site diagnostic tools including exercise stress tests, cardiac CT scans, nuclear stress tests, echocardiograms, continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring, and blood work.

What are CCA's office hours?
All CCA locations are open Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Offices are closed Saturday and Sunday. For urgent cardiac symptoms outside of office hours, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

How do I reach my provider between appointments?
The fastest way to communicate with your provider between appointments is through the CCA Patient Portal at portal.escribe.com. Messages sent through the portal reach your practitioner directly and receive faster responses than phone calls, especially during peak hours.

Can I be seen the same day?
Same-day evaluations are available through the Enhanced Cardiac Access (ECA) walk-in clinics in Albany, Clifton Park, and Niskayuna for patients with potential cardiac symptoms. For routine appointments, availability varies by location and provider. Call 518-292-6004 to check availability.

How do I schedule a student athlete cardiac clearance appointment?
CCA offers cardiac sports clearance appointments for student athletes at our Albany and Clifton Park locations. Call 518-292-6004, Monday–Friday 8am–4:30pm, and request a student athlete cardiac sports clearance appointment through the Enhanced Cardiac Access clinic. When prompted, select option 2 for appointments, then option 2 for new patients.
