Dr. Rizwan Alimohammad, Electrophysiologist, is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Albany Medical College, Albany NY. He then completed his Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA.
Dr. Alimohammad is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at Albany Medical Center. He has participated in several devices related clinical research trials and has published articles on various topics in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology.
He specializes in cardiac ablations for Atrial fibrillation, Ventricular tachycardia, Premature Ventricular Contractions ( PVC) and Supraventricular Tachycardia ( SVT ). He also specializes in advanced ablation options for patients with long-standing Persistent Atrial fibrillation collaborating with Cardio-thoracic surgeons.
Dr. Alimohammad specializes in implanting devices like pacemaker, defibrillators, advance heart failure therapies like resynchronization therapies, Lead-less pacemakers and watchman devices.
In 2017, Dr. Rizwan Alimohammad was recognized as of one the Albany Times Union “Faces of 2017,” He currently serves as a volunteer in organizations sharing his abilities and capacities with others.
