Dr. Kevin M. Woods is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, Nuclear Medicine, Echocardiography, Lifestyle Medicine, and Internal Medicine. Prior to joining Capital Cardiology, he was an active duty Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army, a Staff Cardiologist, and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, DC. While there he was awarded the distinction of Master Clinician. He is presently a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Woods graduated cum laude from Boston University School of Medicine in 2001. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and was selected as Chief of Medical Residents prior to finishing his Cardiology Fellowship at Walter Reed. He is an honor graduate of West Point and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in Afghanistan.
Dr. Woods is particularly interested in preventative cardiology and cardiovascular imaging. In his free time he enjoys mountain biking, exercising and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
