Dr. Kamal Singh is an interventional and structural heart cardiologist at Capital Cardiology Associates, where he specializes in treating complex heart conditions using minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Singh's journey into cardiology was sparked by his extensive involvement in cardiac catheterization research during his postdoctoral fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. His focus on novel biomarkers in patients undergoing cardiac catheterization exposed him to the field's intricacies, leading him to develop a passion for interventional cardiology.
Educational Background
Dr. Singh graduated from medical school in Punjab, India, before moving to the U.S. to pursue further training. He completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine at the same institution. Dr. Singh continued at SUNY Downstate for his Cardiology Fellowship and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship. To further hone his expertise, he pursued advanced training in structural heart procedures and complex coronary interventions at Albany Medical Center under the mentorship of Dr. Delago.

Dr. Singh’s primary clinical interests lie in interventional cardiology and structural heart procedures. He is highly skilled in treating arterial blockages, performing aortic valve replacements (TAVR), mitral valve repairs (MitraClip), and addressing left atrial appendage closure (Watchman) and atrial septal defects (ASD/PFO) using catheter-based, minimally invasive techniques. His dedication to staying at the forefront of cardiology drives him to continually learn and integrate the latest procedures and technologies to provide the best care for his patients.
