Lisa had struggled with her weight for as long as she could remember. She had tried countless diets and exercise plans, but nothing seemed to work. At 39 years old, she was tired of feeling tired and unhappy with her body. She knew it was time for a change
Lisa turned to Capital Cardiology's Healthy Weight/Health Life Initiative for help. The program's multidisciplinary team of experts provided her with a comprehensive plan that included dietary counseling, medications, and bariatric surgery.
She met with our certified health coach who gave her actionable strategies to beginliving healthier.
Under the guidance of our registered dietitian, Lisa learned how to make healthy food choices that were still satisfying and enjoyable. She discovered new recipes and ways to prepare her favorite foods that were lower in calories and more nutritious.
With the help of medications prescribed by her healthcare provider under the guidance of our clinical pharmacists, Lisa was able to jump start her weight loss and break through plateaus. She was able to stay on track with her healthy habits and continue to lose weight, even when life got busy and stressful.
Eventually, Lisa consulted with our obesity medial doctor and decided to undergo bariatric surgery as a tool to help her reach her weight loss goals. The surgery was a success, and she continued to work with our team to adjust her diet and exercise routine as her body changed.
As the weight started to come off, Lisa noticed significant improvements in her overall health and well-being. She had more energy and was able to do things she had never been able to do before, even running her first 5k!
