Karen Canniff is the Chief Advanced Practitioner who oversees all of our Advanced Providers within the practice.  She provides compassionate and quality care to patients at the local hospitals and our Enhanced Cardiac Access locations.  She attended Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Excelsior College.  She started her career as a Registered Nurse on the cardiology floor before transitioning to the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) while pursuing her graduate degree in nursing at Suny Polytechnic Institute.  She returned to cardiology after receiving her Masters degree and becoming board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  She is a member of the American Nurse Association (ANA), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), and the American College of Cardiology (ACC). 

Karen is an active runner and enjoys everything from a 5K to a Marathon.  She participates in the yearly Corporate Challenge and Murph Challenge.  She is married with two school-aged children and enjoys traveling with her family.
